Sustainability For Outdoor Living
Sustainability matters to DeSavino & Sons. For this reason, we have taken every aspect of our Open Air Outdoor Cabinetry into account while designing a responsible, sustainable, and beautiful product.
You can more easily recycle HDPE (high-density polyethylene) than any other polymer. It has the number “2” as its recycling symbol. This means it releases no toxic gases or dioxins contained in many traditional building materials, and can also be fully recycled. HDPE panels help eliminate the use of scarce wood resources. This helps keep other materials out of the waste stream and incinerators. Using molded‐in color means avoiding secondary finishing processes that often release VOC’s into the atmosphere or building. HDPE is very durable and requires no maintenance. It never needs painting (consequently not contributing to VOC emissions), and therefore improves both indoor and outdoor air quality. In addition, you can power wash or steam clean HDPE, eliminating the need for harmful chemical cleaners and toxic wastes.
So much of the modern market floats on products made of inexpensive and environmentally harmful materials. At DeSavino & Sons, we believe that outdoor furniture and features should match their settings without harming them. Our cabinets and drawers are not only naturally beautiful, but they are also naturally good for the earth.
